Conditions for admission to the Master's degree study programme Veterinary Medicine for the academic year 2024/2025 carried out in the English language

According to § 49 of the Act no. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and the Amendment and Supplement to Some Other Acts (the Higher Education Act), and based on Statute of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno and approved by the Academic Senate of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at UVS Brno on 13th November 2023 faculty publishes the conditions for the admission to studies in the Master's degree study programme Veterinary Medicine for the academic year 2024/2025:

  1. Admission to the Master's degree study programme is conditional upon the completion of full secondary education - § 48 article 1 of the Act on Higher Education. Secondary education obtained from a foreign secondary school must be documented by a certificate of equivalence or validation clause, issued by the study departments of the regional authorities § 48 article 4 of the Act on Higher Education.

  2. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UVS Brno states according to § 49 article 1 of the Act on Higher Education the following additional conditions for admission:

a) The applicant submits their electronic application at this link:

             

resp. university website. Any other form of application is not acceptable.

- in case the capacity of the study program is not fulfilled by the first term, further admission procedure might be opened. 31st March 2024, resp. by 14th July 2024, in case the capacity of the study program is not fulfilled by the first term further admission procedure might be opened.

- The applicant is obligated to deliver personally or by the postal services to the address of the Faculty Study Department: FVM UVS Brno, Palackého tř. 1946/1, 612 42 Brno, Czech Republic: school leaving certificate (as stated in article 1 of this document), 2 passport-size photos, filled Medical Certificate (appendix no. 1 of this document). All documentation has to be an original or notarially certified copy.

- All required documentation has to be delivered to the Faculty Study Department at the latest by the date 31st March 2024, resp. by 14th July 2024 in case the capacity of the study programme is not fulfilled by the first term further admission procedure might be opened. In case the applicant doesn't have the school leaving certificate by the date of the entrance exam they are obligated to deliver to the faculty's Admission and Study Office the confirmation from their high school they have graduated successfully.

 

- The faculty is entitled to appeal the applicant to add any missing documentation or sent data.

- To such an applicant who doesn’t submit all required documentation in given terms the admission procedure will be stopped.

- There is no possibility to accept that applicant who already studies at the faculty in this specific program.

- There is no possibility to accept that applicant who has not duly paid their tuition fees from previous years of study at UVS Brno.

 

b) The admission fee is set at 0 CZK.

c) The entrance examination will be held in the form of a written test in biology and chemistry based on the secondary schools’ curriculum. The exam is in a form of a multiple-choice test with only one correct answer. The time for completing the whole test is 120 minutes.

 

Scoring:

Biology: 37 questions - each correct answer + 1 point - maximum number of points 37

Chemistry: 37 questions - each correct answer + 1 point - maximum number of points 37

The maximum number of points: 74

To pass the test, a candidate must obtain at least 18 points from the biology test and 18 points from the chemistry test.

Based on a request and after providing a medical note, students with specific needs may be given an extension of time for writing the entrance exams. 

The admission procedure will be held in the English language. Based on the total number of points awarded to each applicant, candidates will be ranked for a dean's decision on acceptance/non-acceptance to studies. Students will be admitted to studies under this order. Providing a study department with a school-leaving certificate is a condition for being accepted.

The entrance examination is held in a term 1st April till 12th May 2024, resp. 15th July – 2st August 2024 in case the capacity of the study program is not fulfilled by the first term further round of admission might be opened.

For the academic year 2024/2025, the maximum number of accepted students to the Master's degree study programme in Veterinary Medicine is 80 candidates.
